Baby Gift Thank You Card

Expert AuthorBaby gifts are wonderful. If you are a new mother, each baby gift is exciting. You imagine how it will look on your baby, if it is clothing. You imagine using it with your infant if it is a lotion or shampoo.

Thank you for the baby gift cards should never be difficult to write, since you truly are thankful for each baby gift. Two questions, though. Where do you find appropriate cards, and what do you write?

Thank You for the Baby Gift Cards

You can choose from several different sources of thank you for the baby gift cards. Malls often have entire stores dedicated to cards and small gifts. Internet sites offer more unique, or custom-made cards. You can make your own baby gift cards if you have time before your little one’s arrival. It is even proper etiquette to write your thank you on informal stationery. You might find a box of stationery that has an appropriate baby gift design.

* Card Stores: Most card stores offer at least a few cards that are meant for thanking friends for baby gifts. Some are termed baby shower cards. Others are simply thank you cards, picturing a baby or baby toy on the front. Thank you cards may be near gift wrap, and are usually available in boxes of 10 or 12.

* Internet Sites: Designer baby shower thank you cards will be more costly, but are unique. Some sites offer coordinated return-address labels. You can order baby gift shower cards for twins, triplets, and even quadruplets.

* DIY Cards: If you are computer literate, you can do it yourself, and make baby gift cards that are uniquely you. Card software is available and downloadable from sites such as Avery, the makers of a line of DIY card stock for your printer. If your little one has already arrived, you may have trouble finding time to make these. If you work ahead of time, however, you can make up cute cards.

How to Say Thank You for the Baby Gift on Cards

Writing a thank you note should be a priority any time you receive a baby gift. It should not be a chore, though. It should simply be YOU telling your friend how much you appreciate the thoughtfulness.

Thoughtfulness is the most important focus of the thank you note. Even if you hate a baby gift, you can be thankful for thoughtfulness. Also, the price of the gift is not as important as the thoughtfulness that went into its selection. A passing stranger can hand you a package of diapers. A friend will think about what you need, and may, thoughtfully, decide on diapers.

Just as thoughtfulness went into purchase of the gifts, you will want to put thoughtfulness into each note. NEVER use commercial, printed thank you notes. Personalize each one. Take time to mention what the gift was, and what it means to you. If you hate it, do not lie and say you like it. Simply thank the person for the thoughtful baby gift and say that you will think of him or her when you use it.

When to Send Thank You for the Baby Gift Cards

Send your thank you cards within a week of the time you receive the gift. If you are in the hospital when you receive a baby gift, send a card as soon as you are well enough to do so.
